No, your friend is wrong. ALL PSs play ps games. But only the gig PS does not play ps games. But again the gig can play ps games. The reason why the gig cant play ps games is because sony removed the emotion engine needed to run ps games, so they could cut production costs. Thus giving us a dollar price cut and the gb PS.
